Pierre Auguste Renoir. Tradition and Innovation

Complesso del Vittoriano in Rome plays tribute to the famous French impressionist, Pierre Auguste Renoir with the exhibition "Pierre Auguste Renoir. Tradition and Innovation" available in the museum until June 29.

Around 150 works by Renoir backtrace the 40 years of his artistic career and reveal the artistic tendencies of the 19th - the beginning of 20th centuries. The exhibition also describes Renoir's relations with Italy as it is known that the trip he made in 1881 has greatly influenced his style of paintings. Drawings, oil paintings and sculptures show the artist's passion to sunny and bright colours and the female sensuality (female nudes are among his favourite subjects). Works on show are loaned from Italian and international museums.
