Sports fans are invited to the ATP Masters Series - a great event for those fond of tennis, organised as part of the Association of Tennis Professionals tour. Professional tennis players compete at nine tournaments, including four in North America and five in Europe, to win the title of the best. May 3rd - 18th the ATP Masters Series comes to Rome, with tournaments for men taking place 3rd -11th May 2008 and for women from 10th to 18th of May.

Introduced in 1990, the ATP Masters Series are the second most prestigious tennis event after the Grand Slams. In 2007 the ATP announced that it would change the name "Masters Series" into the "Masters 1000."
