The goal of the exhibit is to cover the whole Rothko's creative work, paying attention to the author's constant striving for presenting his work through thoroughly selected groups or artwork, designed to intensify the visual impact of the single works.
The exhibition demonstrates different periods of the author's creative work: from the figurative canvases to the surreal works, from the "Multiforms" to the classic works of the 50's leading up to the "Black form" and "Black on Grey" paintings. This is the first try to reconstruct some of the paintings displayed in the "Mark Rothko Room" at the Venice Biennale in 1958, which met with great success.
One of the artist's works holds the world record for the highest paid modern artwork, being sold by Sotheby's for 72.8 million dollars.
