St.George Hotel's building, originally meant to be the Roman Court House, was designed by Bramante and was started in 1508. A custom of those times was to use parts of ancient Roman temples and buildings and, in fact, the St.George has some huge blocks of travertine that belonged to the Coliseum's area.
