The hotel Donna Camilla Savelli is placed in the building that was once the cloister. It was created by famous architect Francesco Borromini, forming the perfect corner for relaxation and tranquility. The position in the Trastevere gives the opportunity to stay close to the city center and to be derived from all the noise at the same time.Donna Camilla Savelli

There’s much left in Donna Camilla Savelli from its first owner and founder. First of all the name of the religious institute wasn’t changed and appeared to be inherited by the hotel. The name itself comes from Donna Camilla family, who gave the rich donations to the Francesco Borromini for the Santa Maria dei Sette Dolori cloister. The building was fully restored inside, keeping all of the ancient architectural motives intact along with adding some modern amenities and the range of facilities a good luxury hotel must have.

The transformation into the high-quality accommodations took its time; still the basics of the Baroque architecture were saved along with some Borromini project details. Entering the hotel, you feel like a real time traveler digging into the history. The center point of the local garden in Donna Camilla Savelli is taken by the ancient looking fountain. All the hotel rooms are unique, representing the ancient style, still offering all the amenities.

Rome's hotel scene hasn't seen any newcomers for a long time. However, late November there a new hotel opened in the Trastevere rione of Rome, which is on the west bank of Tiber. Despite its location is not in the city centre, true Rome experts know that this address is one of the best in the city. Plus, the historic attractions are just across the river.

Donna Camilla Savelli is a 78-room property located in a building designed by the 17th century architect Francesco Borromini. His name is associated with such masterpieces as Sant'Ivo delle Sapienza and St. Carlo alle Quattro Fontane churches in the Italian capital. The building once accommodated Augustinian nuns who used to run a guest house here.

As a result of renovation by Alpitour World Hotels & Resorts Donna Camilla Savelli turned into an alluring hotel, with such stunning features as plaster decoration, a breakfast room with wooden ceiling and a marble staircase. There is only breakfats served in its restaurant, but lots of other dining options can be found nearby.
