Surreal America

Rome hotels Westin Hotels and Resorts listGregory Crewdson is a celebrity American photographer, famous for making highly original photos of American homes and neighborhoods. To create his first work in the early 1990s, Crewdson constructed elaborate, small-scale dioramas of neighborhood backyards in which the flora and fauna enacted strange rituals: birds built a circle out of eggs, butterflies congregated to form a pyramid, vines turned into braids. Each of these miniature yet menacing worlds was captured in a single photograph before being demolished.
Crewdson is represented in New York at the Luhring Augustine and London at the White Cube Gallery.
Until 2 March one can see 53 shots by the celebrity photographer in Vittoriano Complex. Don't miss a chance to immerse in the surreal world of Crewdson's pictures!
