Beware of the Wolf II

May 15th the American Academy in Rome opens an exhibition "Beware of the Wolf II," which presents works both by the members of the Academy and Roman artists. The subject for this second part of the exhibition is landscape and the curators for the event are Lorenzo Benedetti and Lexi Eberspacher. Visitors can observe works by: Adam Chapman, Flavio de Marco, Lisa Sanditz, Corrado Sassi and Lisa Switkin. The exhibition is opened until May 28th .

The American Academy in Rome is the American overseas center for independent study in fine arts and humanities. The Academy organizes an annual Rome Prize fellowship program which supports researchers working in various fields of humanities and arts.

Letterature - International Literature Festival

The Basilica di Massenzio in Rome hosts Letterature, an international literature festival that brings successful writers and their unpublished texts to the stage. Literature Festival will pass in May and June 2008.

Based on this year's theme, "near, far", each text is produced specifically for the festival and it is either read out to the public by its creator in original language or presented in a video format. Among the most awaited guests are Isabel Allende (Chile), Ismael Beah (Morocco) and Irish writers John Banville and Catherine Dunne.

Festival opens at 9 pm. Entrance is free.

Grease’s Back

The career of John Travolta and Olivia Newton John speeded up after a brilliant musical film "Grease". The love story of Danny and Sandy touched upon the hearts of people around the Globe. Remember the Pink Ladies and the T-Birds, the puffball skirts and leather jackets, the big hit tunes "You're The One That I Want" and "Summer Nights"? If you answer positively, you'll certainly enjoy the latest version of the story that is on the run at the Teatro Olimpico. The performance is directed by Federico Bellone, the dances are staged by Franco Miseria.

Stanley Kubrick

Stanley Kubrick is without a doubt one of the most famous and controversial directors and influential producers in the modern cinematograph. Among his best creations are such films as "The Shining", "Clockwork Orange", "Killer's Kiss", "2001. A space odyssey", "Lolita", "Eyes Wide Shut"...
Until 6 January every person interested in his creative work can visit an exhibition dedicated to this director of genius. There are four major sections: Kubrick in black and white, films devoted to war, historical movies, psychological thrillers. Every section includes costumes, soundtracks and models.
The exhibition is a real treat for all Stanley Kubrick fans!
