For the first time in Rome you can visit a major exhibition dedicated to Antonio Allegri da Correggio, or simply Correggio as we know him. Even though the author of the «Danae» was recognized by his contemporaries, he never got as world-known as other Italian artists like Michelangelo or Raphael. The exhibition at Galleria Borghese, opened until September 14th 2008, is your chance to penetrate into the artist's world.

Works arrive from other world museums: «Leda and the Swan» from the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin, «Ganymede abducted by the Eagle» and «Jupiter and Io» from the Kunsthistorisches in Vienna, «Venus and Cupid with a Satyr» from the Louvre. The exhibition is a part of a series of exhibitions dedicated to great Italian artists.

Every year on April, 21, Rome is celebrating its birthday. On this day the doors of numerous museums and archeological sights are open to public, and the richly decorated streets are flooded with sumptuous processions of gladiators, senators, and other heroes of the Roman many-century history. Thousands of candles cover the Aventine Hill, and fireworks are displayed over the Tiber.
Enjoy the events that will take place throughout the whole Eternal City from 18 to 21 April!

See, smell, sip, swirl, swallow, summarize...are you acquainted with these rules of wine-tasting? No matter whether you answer "yes" or "no", whether you're a connoisseur of good wine or an amateur, you're welcome to visit Roma Wine Festival! In 2008 it takes place from 29 February to 2 March at Spazio Etoile.
The festival is a rare opportunity to meet wine professionals, to taste best wines, to make contact with wine producers as well as to get a better understanding and knowledge of the cultural, historical, geographical, and social contexts in which the finest wines are born.
This year such renowned wine experts as Ian D'Agata and Massimo Claudio Comparini, director and vice director of the International Wine Academy of Rome, Charles Metcalfe, successful wine critic and co-chairman of the London International Wine Challenge, and journalist Bernard Burtschy are expected to take part in the event.

The first gay opera is about to shake the Italian audience. The preparations for "The Mask Of Punkitititi" are kept secret due to the public disapproval of the event. No official rehearsal photos, no strangers at general rehearsals...the director, Kuirino Konti, claims he even "received threatening from the politicians-catholics". The organizers, nevertheless, say "it is a chaste opera, homosexuality is just one of the many issues we touched upon".
The event takes place at the Nazionale, the Rome opera provided the director with the money, hall, choir and orchestra. The music was written by Marco Taralli, who says that his music is rather dynamic and some arias are really hooky".
