Based on Travel + Leisure readers' opinion poll, the list of 100 World's best hotels is perhaps one of the most important recognitions in hotel industry since you may be quite sure that what simple people choose is true. This year Hotel de Russie deserved a special acknowledgment from travelers and was named one of the best big city hotels in Europe. Now what did the editors like in Hotel de Russie?

The magazine mentioned the hotel's historic past, it's excellent location on Via Condotti which is known for its shopping, its lush courtyard that makes this hotel an oasis among the city bustle, competent concierges and of course its luxurious rooms.

Macro Future Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome opens an exhibition of works by the Irish artist Sean Scully, one of the most widely acclaimed and exhibited artists in the world. Born in Dublin in 1945, the artist now lives and works in New York and Europe.

His abstract paintings are often exhibited in the world's leading contemporary museums, like the Whitechapel Art Gallery, the Museum of Art - Carnegie Institute - in Pittsburgh, Palacio Velazquez in Madrid and the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus in Munich. He was also nominated for the Turner Prize in 1989 and 1993 and was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich.

This is the second Italian solo exhibition of works by Sean Scully, after the one held at GAM, Bologna, in 1996. The exhibition is organised in cooperation with the Fundacio Joan Miró in Barcelona and the Musée d'Art Moderne in Saint Étienne. Available until 31 August 2008.

The name of Alberto Moravia is famous not only in Italy but all over the world. He was a talented journalist and writer who focused on such topics like sex, social alternation and issues of the present-day society. Several books by Moravia were screened, among them are Two Women by Vittorio De Sica (1960), A Ghost at Noon by Jean-Luc Godard (1964), and The Conformist by Bernardo Bertolucci (1970).
Ex GIL di Trastevere is hosting an exhibition called "Moravia. Dal mondo intero. Fotografie di Dacia Maraini (Moravia. From around the world. Photos by Dacia Maraini)", devoted to the photos of Moravia himself and the places Moravia and Maraini visited during their journeys through Central America, Africa, China and Japan in 60s-80s. The exhibition is of great interest to all people interested in life of Moravia as it reveals new sides of the famous personality.
