Gran Melia hotel to open in Rome in 2010

The Spanish hotel chain Sol Melia will open three new hotels in 2009 and 2010. The two first are in Shanghai and Seville, while in 2010 Sol Melia's portfolio will be complement with a new property in Rome, operating under the Gran Meliá brand. Gran Meliá Roma will be located in the very centre of the Eternal city.

The group currently operates 300 hotels and resorts, including twelve hotels under the Gran Meliá brand.

Dissonanze

List of Rome hotels Radisson Hotels & Resorts9 - 10 May 2008 Rome welcomes visitors for the annual festival of electronic and digital music - Dissonanze, held at three city venues: Rome's Parca della Musica, Palazzo dei Congressi and Ara Pacis. A great amount of musicians, Djs, bands and performers will participate in the event.

Array Dance Company, Cluster feat. Moebius & Roedeliu, Carl Craig, Deadbeat, Erol Alkan, Fujiya & Miyagi, Inside-us-all, Loco Dice, Lucky Dragons, Munk, No Age, Otolab, Ryoji Ikeda, Charlemagne Palestine, Thorsten Fleisch, The Bug, Zu vs Scarful - this is just a small part of the performers' list.

Annual Blues Festival

List of Radisson Hotels & Resorts Rome hotelsAnnual Roma Blues Festival is to be held in April 2008 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

Blues Festival is organized by the association Musica Per Roma. Three days of live blues include performances by Bo Diddley, who celebrated fifty years of musical activity in 2005, John Hammond, currently the most acclaimed exponent of white blues and The Blind Boys Of Alabama, famous for their recent collaborations with Peter Gabriel and Ben Harper.

Blues Festival starts at 9 pm. One concert costs €20; three concerts cost €40.

Photo Masterpieces

Timothy Greenfield-Sanders is a famous American photographer. His portraits are in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum, The Whitney Museum and The National Portrait Gallery. Several years ago seven hundred of his art world portraits were accepted into the permanent collections of The Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Fine Arts (Houston).
The artist focuses on portraits of celebrities. Greenfield-Sanders' fashion and celebrity images can be seen in magazines worldwide. He is on the masthead as a contributing photographer at Vanity Fair. His works are insights into the souls of the people he portraits. Being an excellent psychologist he manages to reveal new sides of the star personalities.
Museo Carlo Bilotti, Aranciera di Villa Borghese is hosting an exhibition titled "Movie Stars. Ritratti di Timothy Greenfield-Sanders (Movie Stars. Portraits by Timothy Greenfield-Sanders)".
Orson Welles, Alfred Hitchcock, Spike Lee, Woody Allen, Darren Aronofsky, Wes Anderson, John Malkovich, Jodie Foster, Glenn Close and Tom Hanks are just some of those who are featured in this exhibition in the Bilotti museum.

Rome is proud to present a new multi-sensorial attraction called "Time Elevator". You will be shown 3000 years of Roman history from the very beginning up to the present day. Special effects will make you believe in the reality of what is happening. See Caesar, Brutus, Romolus with your own eyes!
   Come and have 45 minutes of educative entertainment!
   The attraction is available daily from 11.00 am to 7.30 pm.
